How Strut helped Athos build scalable systems that freed its team to focus on growth
THE CHALLENGE
Athos Private Wealth is a hybrid wealth management firm that offers clients access to invest in venture funds, private equity, and credit funds through its alternative investment platform. Since launching in 2020, the firm has scaled rapidly, growing from a single fund to more than 25 SEC-regulated investment vehicles and over 40 entities across its structure.
As the firm expanded, its operations grew increasingly complex. CEO Robbie Shattuck was balancing investment strategy with the administrative demands of audits, taxes, and fund management, alongside running a wealth management firm. To support continued growth, Athos engaged Strut to provide operational leadership and to triage and address immediate fires, with the goal of building scalable systems, refining back-office infrastructure, and alleviating the administrative burden on Robbie and the team.

How We Helped
Established a consistent workflow and communication framework across over 40 entities, including venture funds, private equity and credit vehicles, SPVs, and general partnerships.
Brought financial reporting current by resolving blockers on audits, tax, and reporting, and established systems to ensure continued timeliness/success.
Improved fund administrator coordination, identifying process gaps, resolving errors early, and creating new accountability and record-keeping systems.
Standardized invoicing, intracompany reimbursements, and capital call tracking to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Today, Strut continues to serve as Athos’s embedded operations team, providing consistency and flexibility to adapt and evolve as the needs shift. The relationship exemplifies how disciplined, detail-driven operations can scale alongside rapid fund growth.
Robbie even found time to train for a marathon. He’s now on track for the Boston Marathon in 2026, a goal he half credits to Strut’s support!
