INVESTOR RELATIONS MANAGER

THE KIND OF HELP WE NEED

We are seeking an Investor Relations Manager who is passionate about providing our clients with best-in-class support to help them achieve their fundraising goals and build meaningful connections with current and prospective LPs. This role demands a sophisticated communicator who is adept at crafting concise and engaging content for clients and their core constituents. The ideal candidate has a proven ability to prioritize tasks and handle high-volume projects efficiently with strong attention to detail and can successfully maintain client confidentiality.

The role will be a full-time W2. Tasks will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Client-Centric Investor Relations Support

  • Collaborate with multiple venture capital clients to prepare and distribute investor-facing materials, including quarterly reports, fundraising pitches, and due diligence documents.

  • Serve as a point of contact for client LPs, responding to inquiries and facilitating professional and accurate communication on behalf of clients.

  • Maintain and organize databases of investor interactions, preferences, and commitments for each client, ensuring detailed knowledge of their unique requirements and timelines.

  • Support relationship-building with LPs on behalf of clients, coordinating LP meetings, follow-ups, and updates.

Cross-Client Fundraising and Marketing Coordination

  • Assist in developing fundraising materials and outreach campaigns tailored to each client's unique needs and fundraising goals.

  • Conduct research on potential LPs for clients, maintain insights on industry trends, and help identify high-impact conferences and events for enhanced fundraising exposure.

  • Coordinate logistics and materials preparation for client participation in industry events to support fundraising and networking.

Operational Excellence and Compliance

  • Manage operational tasks across clients, including document organization, data management, and administrative support for enhanced workflow efficiency.

  • Support compliance initiatives, including assisting clients with Exempt Reporting Adviser (ERA) documentation, FinCEN filings, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Act as a liaison between clients and third-party vendors, such as fund administrators, auditors, and placement agents, ensuring alignment with clients' operational goals.

Content Development and Strategic Communications

  • Contribute to content creation, including thought leadership articles, client investor updates, and summaries of terms, reinforcing Strut Consulting’s role as a trusted resource for clients.

  • Collaborate with the Director to draft concise, smooth-flowing client communication, ensuring messaging aligns with each client’s brand and investor relations strategy.

  • Assist in curating and expanding Strut’s template library for the accelerator, enhancing operational resources available to client funds.

Special Projects and Client Initiatives

  • Support clients in establishing and implementing ESG and sustainability initiatives aligned with responsible investing principles.

  • Assist with the organization of peer group meetings and professional development events for clients, including curating content and managing logistics.

  • Engage in ad hoc projects such as helping clients wind down operations, enhance service offerings, or build out investor communication processes.

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience in venture capital, private equity, or consulting, with expertise in investor relations, client management, compliance (including ERA standards), and crafting clear, engaging communications for clients and LPs.

  • Has strong communication skills, especially in crafting concise, clear, and engaging content for clients and their LPs.

  • Has a proven ability to prioritize tasks and handle high-volume projects efficiently.

  • Cares passionately about details but can also see the forest for the trees.

  • Understands, respects, and honors confidentiality and is able to build and maintain trust.

  • Is proficient in Google Slides, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Is inquisitive, educated, and knowledgeable.

  • Has a proven track record of successful employment and is revered by past employers.

  • Is trustworthy and reliable.

  • Has a strong sense of self and healthy boundaries.

  • Is well-spoken and worldly, either via travel or personal life experience.

  • Has a high EQ, a sense of humor, and the ability to navigate different personalities with ease.

  • Is proficient with today’s workflow and productivity tools/software and is willing to put in the time to learn about anything they don’t know.

  • Is a unicorn or a phoenix (either educationally or in real life), or both.

Bonus points for:

  • Demonstrated interest or experience in ESG, sustainability, or responsible investing.

  • Experience with investor databases (such as Affinity), CRMs, and data visualization tools.

OTHER THINGS TO KNOW

You need to be self-motivated and a self-starter. You will not be micromanaged in any capacity. It will be expected that you see your tasks through to completion, speak up and ask questions when you have them, communicate progress and status updates accordingly, and when you’ve reached the end of your to-do list, ask: “what can I tackle next?”

Your work will be primarily virtual but will also involve onsite work at various client offices, event locations, and team meeting locations throughout the year. You will need reliable transportation. You also may be required to fly and/or drive for various client events. As such, a current passport and a valid driver’s license are required. TSA Pre/Global Entry status is a bonus.

When in-person, you will need to dress professionally, ranging from business casual (nice blouse/top or collared shirt, jeans, nice shoes) to business formal (nice blouse/top/dress or button-down shirt, skirt or slacks, nice shoes) depending on the meeting type, event, or occasion. When working from home, we support all forms of athleisure wear (especially Vuoris).
